Ms Marie-José L. Tayah joined the Labour Migration Branch in February 2014, prior to which she worked as research coordinator and knowledge sharing officer at ILO’s Regional Office for Arab States (2011-2013) and as junior research expert and evaluator at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (2005-2006).

Ms Tayah is a PhD candidate at Kent State University’s Department of Political Science where her dissertation explores the social dynamics of organizing among migrant domestic workers in Lebanon. She was a Fulbright conflict resolution graduate grantee at the Centre for Justice and Peacebuilding (2006-2008) of Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia where she pursued her M.A. in Conflict Transformation and Organizational Leadership, a Visiting Scholar at the Mershon Centre for International Security Studies of The Ohio State University (2008), and a Research Affiliate at the Lebanese Emigration Research Centre (2008-2011) of Notre Dame University in Lebanon.

Work areas: Inter-agency work on global debates such as the Global Migration Group (GMG), the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), the High Level Dialogue on Migration and Development (HLD) and the UN Post-2015 Development Agenda.
