CCIFQ Members engaged for the Environment

CCI France Qatar is proud to be a partner for the Qatar Sustainability Week 2023!

Qatar Sustainability Week 2023 is a community-focused initiative aimed at promoting sustainable living practices, raising awareness, and showcasing Qatar's progress in sustainability.

On Wednesday, the 8th of November, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change invited us to participate in a mangrove replanting action, on the stunning Purple Island. With over 170 people, representing 11 companies, we planted more than 600 trees, cleaned up the mangroves of plastic bags and bottles, and enjoyed lunch together. 

This was just the beginning, as we have additional dates with other companies and entities planned in the coming winter months.

Mangroves are critical ecosystems that help protect against erosion and storm surges, providing habitats for marine life and playing an essential role in carbon sequestration. Saving these precious habitats is vital for biodiversity conservation, coastal protection, and climate regulation. 

Our members and ourselves are happy to have brought awareness on the importance of their protection to the participants.
