Qatar has consolidated its position as a symbol of stability in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), while making notable progress on the international stage in the 2025 edition of the Global Peace Index (GPI).
In the 2025 Index, Qatar reached the top spot in the MENA region for the seventh time in its nineteen-year history, highlighting its strong security framework and effective governance.
Globally, Qatar ranks 27th among the 163 independent states and territories assessed by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP).
Regionally, Kuwait, ranked 31st globally, follows Qatar. Oman, ranked 42nd, is followed by the United Arab Emirates (52nd) and Jordan (72nd), occupying third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.
