Qatar and France to boost cooperation in fields of labour

Doha: The Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the French Republic, in cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO), signed in Doha on Sunday a Memorandum of Intent to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of labour.

The memorandum was signed by Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs at the Ministry of Labour Mohammed Hassan Al Obaidli, Ambassador of the French Republic to the State of Qatar H E Jean-Baptiste Faivre, and President of the ILO Office in Doha H E Max Tunon.

The memorandum comes within the framework of the cooperation strategy implemented by the State of Qatar with various governments and international organisations to exchange expertise and the best international experiences in the field of labour.

The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and the French government in cooperation with the International Labour Organization in the fields of labour, through the exchange of information, the exchange of delegations and experts, the strengthening of technical cooperation between specialized public institutions, the exchange of expertise, experiences, and the consultations on implementation and development mechanisms.

The memorandum will enhance cooperation between the three parties in a way that supports the continued development and modernization of the legislation and laws that the State of Qatar has introduced in the labour sector in recent years.
