French Embassy celebrates National Day, highlights strengthening ties with Qatar
The French Embassy in Qatar celebrated Bastille Day at the Ritz-Carlton Doha, in the presence of Qatari dignitaries, diplomats, and members of the French community.
Honoured guests included H.E. Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Thani and H.E. Ambassador Ibrahim Yousif Fakhroo, Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Patrick Poinsot highlighted the strength and diversity of the France–Qatar partnership, spanning politics, culture, business, defence, education, and more.
He notably emphasized:
- the presence of over 200 French companies operating in Qatar,
- Qatar’s major role in securing the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (4th largest foreign security contingent),
- the signing of 7 cultural and museum cooperation agreements following the French Minister of Culture’s visit to Doha,
- and Qatar’s growing support for Francophonie and French language education.
