Energy Committee – Insightful Conference on Data Centers Hosted by Schneider Electric

On Wednesday the 10th of December, CCI France Qatar’s Energy Committee members were invited by Schneider Electric to attend an insightful conference dedicated to Data Centers, a sector at the heart of today’s digital and energy transformation.
The session opened with a comprehensive overview delivered by Ronan Trégouët, Country Director of Schneider Electric, alongside Ashraf Lejmi, Territory Manager. They presented Schneider Electric’s global expertise in data center solutions, highlighting the company’s worldwide approach to energy efficiency, sustainability, digitalisation, and resilience in critical infrastructure. Their intervention provided participants with a clear understanding of how Schneider Electric supports data centers across their entire lifecycle, from design and construction to operation and optimisation.
The conference then continued with a market-focused presentation by Walid Bayoumi, Vice President Infrastructure and Site Selection at Syntys. Syntys is a consulting firm specialised in critical infrastructure and data centres, originating from the Ooredoo Group, supporting the development of strategic projects in Qatar and internationally, from strategy definition to site selection and infrastructure implementation. Walid Bayoumi detailed the company’s activities and strategic positioning in Qatar, offering valuable insights into the local data center ecosystem. His intervention shed light on market dynamics, site selection criteria, infrastructure requirements, and the growing opportunities driven by digital growth, cloud adoption, and national development priorities.
The event fostered high-quality discussions and exchanges among participants, underlining the strategic importance of data centers in supporting Qatar’s digital ambitions and energy transition objectives.
